Dr Phil is a practising GP (just), writer, broadcaster and possibly the only comedian to have appeared at a public inquiry. He is Private Eye’s medical correspondent, The One Show’s science correspondent and has been a regular on Have I Got News for You, The News Quiz, The Now Show and Countdown. Dr Phil is rude about everything (politicians, doctors, death, drugs, sex, himself) but in a nice way. Unlike most comedians, Phil gives his audience a choice of material. Political or anatomical? Vulvas or vaccine scares? Then, like any other doctor, he does exactly as he wants. Free swabs and sick notes.
